The work of Marc Felten takes its roots in the tradition of the study and the representation of the human body. This is an original universe influenced by drawing, graff, street art and illustration. Meaning, excessive, energetic paint, the body is clearly displayed, in all its violence, often showing hybrid creatures like man-animals or man-animal-machines.
Working from drawings, stencils and of photos, Marc Felten changes the picture, deform the image to engender new anatomical forms. Then he realizes his composition, in the instinct, freeing his creative strength with brushes and spalters to give birth to strange characters, building literally a new beeing, a new body ...
